Position Overview
Boar’s Head Resort, a premier luxury destination in Charlottesville, Virginia, is seeking an experienced and passionate Child Care Supervisor to lead our child care program. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children, while delivering exceptional service aligned with our Forbes-level hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations

- Supervise and lead childcare staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management
- Oversee daily operations of the childcare facility, ensuring smooth and efficient programming
- Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios in compliance with state regulations
- Partner with leadership to develop and enhance child-focused programs and activities

Guest Experience

- Create a welcoming, engaging, and safe environment for children of all ages
- Ensure all interactions reflect Boar’s Head Resort’s luxury service standards
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child’s experience and needs
- Resolve guest concerns promptly with professionalism and care

Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with all Virginia state licensing requirements and safety regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment
- Enforce health, safety, and emergency procedures at all times
- Keep accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and child profiles Program.

Program Development

- Design and implement age-appropriate activities, including educational, recreational, and creative programming
- Coordinate special events, seasonal activities, and themed programs
- Continuously evaluate and improve programming to enhance engagement and satisfaction

Requirements

Qualifications

- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in childcare, early childhood education, or a related field
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required
- Knowledge of Virginia childcare licensing requirements preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field
- Experience in a resort, hospitality, or luxury environment
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
 
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with children for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities
